Administrative procedures
In this section, you can read more about the administrative procedures and required documents in order to be able to come to study in France.
Required documents
Students from outside the European Union need the following documents:
- A valid passport
- A student visa
Attention: Please note that a tourist visa is not sufficient to undertake long term studies in France.
Campus France
While filling in your application form for the EG@ Examination, you must also create an electronic file (dossier éléctronique) at the Campus France in your country. Your Campus France registration number must be filled in the EG@ Examination application form.
In order to create your electronic file and get your number, follow the indications on the following website: “Etudes en France”
Log on to the site and click “Je m’inscris” (“Sign-Up”) on the green bubble on the left. Then select the Campus France of your country on the drop down list and fill in the requested information. You will obtain a registration number (example: “AA15-00000-C01-00”). This number is to be noted on your EG@ examination application form and to be used in all correspondence with the Campus France of your country.
Validation of your visa
You will need to validate your visa within 90 days after arriving in France at the French Immigration Office, OFII (Office Français de l’Immigration). The international relations office of your school will help you with this procedure.
